Prof. Dr. med. Holger Cramer ist neuer AZKIM-Partner

Prof. Holger Cramer ist Psychologe und hat im September 2022 die neu geschaffene Professur für die Erforschung komplementärmedizinischer Verfahren am Universitätsklinikum Tübingen angetreten. Diese Professur ist die erste rein wissenschaftliche Professur im Bereich der Komplementärmedizin an einer deutschen staatlichen Universität. Prof. Cramer ist zudem wissenschaftlicher Leiter des Robert Bosch Centrums für Integrative Medizin und Gesundheit (RBIM) am Bosch Health Campus in Stuttgart. Prof. Stefanie Joos on the Expert Council for Health & Care

Since February 1, 2023, AZKIM partner Prof. Dr. med. Stefanie Joos has been a member of the Expert Council on Health & Care. This independent council for the assessment of developments in the German healthcare system is interdisciplinary and comprises seven members who are appointed by the Federal Minister of Health for a period of four years.

September 29-30, 2022, AZKIM-Retreat

On September 29-30, 2022, the AZKIM partners met in Freiburg for a retreat. AZKIM takes stock and can proudly say that a lot has been achieved since its foundation. These include studies on immunological and metabolic effects of herbal substances, vegan nutrition and acupuncture, as well as the establishment of new teaching modules for medical students and training programs for young scientists. Two days of meetings were held in Freiburg to sum up and discuss the next steps. The task now is to build on these successes, to secure what has been achieved in the long term and to tackle new tasks. The focus of this meeting was therefore also on the preparation of a new funding application in order to be able to continue AZKIM so successfully.

 

 

Interview series "Medizin am Abend" for reading and listening

The popular series "Medizin am Abend" (Medicine in the Evening), jointly organized by Heidelberg University Hospital and the Rhein-Neckar-Zeitung, has set itself the task of presenting everyday medical topics in an understandable, well-founded and up-to-date manner. Professor Yvonne Samstag, head of the Molecular Immunology Section of the Institute of Immunology at Heidelberg University Hospital and spokesperson for KIG BaWü and AZKIM, talks about topics such as which therapy options strengthen the body's own forces, how conventional and complementary medicine are coming closer together, or why broccoli sprouts are not considered a superfood in every case, and provides insights into a current study on chronic stress.
